Former GTA, Fable 2 and Crackdown devs for Ruffian Games

Recently mentioned alongside rumors of Crackdown 2, Ruffian Games has officially been formed. Develop reports that several former developers on projects such as Fable II, Grand Theft Auto, Crackdown and MotoGP have gathered to form the studio, which is based in Dundee, Scotland. Heading the studio is Gaz Liddon, who most recently worked on titles including Fable II, Crackdown, Project Gotham Racing and Too Human. Sony claims Xbox 360 'lacks longevity'

Full of vitality, vigor and boastful confidence, Sony Computer Entertainment’s chairmen Kazuo Hirai wants it known that after all is said, the Playstation 3 will remain on top thanks – in part – to the Xbox “lacking longevity.” Ouch.

Forbes profiles Activision CEO, calls Rock Band "shameless knockoff"

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick is this month’s Forbes magazine cover boy, where the business mag recounts his journey from sandwich delivery boy to billionaire CEO. New Gears 2 achievements appear on Xbox.com

Probably in preparation for the soon to be released Gears of War 2 title update, Xbox.com has posted an additional seven Gears 2 achievements. The new achievements – which aren’t unlockable until the patch releases – add an extra 175 Gamerscore to Gears 2‘s total and all are targeted toward achievements made in multiplayer on the Flashback and Combustible DLC. DivX VP "not very happy" with the Xbox 360's codec decision

In an update that predates Microsoft’s NXE, the Xbox 360 gained the ability to playback DivX formatted video but according to VP Jerome Vashist-Rota of the DivX Inc., his company isn’t exactly happy with the route Microsoft took. Speaking with TechRadar the DivX VP of creative, brand and community praised the Xbox 360 for its DivX support but expressed frustration that the Xbox 360 uses third-party software and not the official codec provided by his company.

BlowOut now an Xbox Original, yay?

Gamerscore Blog is retired, closed for good

Sad news on the Xbox community front. Our Microsoft friends over at the Gamerscore Blog recently revealed that their blog will be no more and is officially retired. Microsoft has made the decision to end the GSB in an effort to focus on “community outreach through Xbox.com and through the Xbox dashboard.” From what we understand, the GSB crew will be helping create content for Inside Xbox and other projects.
