The Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta downloadable content hits Xbox and Games for Windows Live on Monday, and Bethesda dropped off the official trailer, in case anyone still needs convincing.
Nothing gets me in the mood for a little retro post-apocalyptic science fiction action-adventure like a little operatic chanting. It worked for the original Star Trek series, and it sure as hell works here. The trailer gives us a glimpse of some of the new toys and outfits we’ll get to play with in Mothership Zeta, as whoever …

If things work out the right way this weekend, I’ll be playing a little Shadow Complex, just one of many still unreleased games I plan to dabble in during my free time. The others… I probably shouldn’t say.
But I’ll definitely be making a few minutes for Fat Princess and Shadow Complex, maybe a little Call of Duty 4. Since we have visitors at Kotaku Towers West this weekend, it’s going to make lazing around on the couch, controller in hand, a little more difficult. Same for next weekend, unfortunately.
Let us …

To: Crecente From: Bashcraft RE: The O’Reilly Factor
The thing that makes me most excited about Kotaku Japan? Mrs. Bashcraft has never really read the site before, but now she has no excuse.
This is a good thing. Perhaps?

Impressive in this economy, no doubt!

Reading this interview with Tim Schafer, I’m taken back to the first R-rated movie I saw with permission. Dad took me and Fletch to see Beverly Hills Cop in 1984. I was 11.
It was and it remains one of the great father-son moments. Proof that parents can understand limitations and what their kids are ready for regardless of the law. And while Brütal Legend won’t exactly be the same thing, Tim Schafer told Planet Xbox 360 that profanity filters will bleep Eddie and others, and a good ol-fashioned PMRC parental …

The Nintendo DSi is in no danger of losing its first place position in Japan, thanks to ongoing strong sales of Dragon Quest IX in the country. But it lost a little steam this past week.
While DSi sales were down, DS Lite sales were up. Maybe Nintendo’s just having a little trouble keeping up with demand, as DQ IX, Tomodachi Collection and others make for a DS-heavy top ten software sales chart. Also getting a boost is the PSP, up considerably from last week.
Expect Wii sales to get a bump …

Brütal Legend‘s Rocktober release appears to be safely on schedule, as a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge has tentatively denied Activision’s request to delay the game. The rival publisher sued developer Double Fine in June, claiming ownership to Brütal Legend.
Whether the judge will ultimately rule in Activision’s favor and deny gamers a face melting experience this fall still remains to be seen, however, as arguments from both EA and Activision’s legal teams have been pushed back to next week.
The Associated Press reports that Judge Craig Karlan told Activision attorneys he …

There have been lots of assumptions that Borderlands and Brothers In Arms developer Gearbox Software was hard at work on a Halo game for Microsoft. That’s partly based on things Gearbox has said, partly on things it didn’t say.
Microsoft has put the kibosh on that speculation, via the Halo Waypoint Twitter account today.
“For the record, Gearbox is NOT working on a Halo title for Microsoft,” reads today’s update, a rather to the point denial that leaves little to interpretation. The only wiggle room there is that Gearbox would be working …
